Went out last night with Linda and Judy and we ate at 13 Gypsies. It was delicious!
They call themselves Mediterranean but the food is more of a Spanish influence. I looked online for reviews and they got raves.
Here is their menu, some of it has been updated but a lot of it is the same.
Make reservations as there are only 7 tables - we had reservations on a Friday night from 5 pm - 6:30 - Perfect timing!
Go with friends order one to two tapas each and share!
If you go with a very hungry male, let him order a full dinner
They offer many tapas (Spanish appetizers), pasta and risotto entrees, salads and sandwiches.
Here is what we ordered and what we thought about it:
Marinated cheese - Queso blanco, Asiago, and Romano cheeses marinated in olive oil, rosemary, black pepper, garlic, crushed olives and roasted red pepper - This was DELICIOUS!
Roman Gnocchi - Polenta style with parmesan, mushrooms and a gravy - absolutely wonderful!
Pork Kabobs - This was good to me and Judy's favorite!
Scallops - PAN SEARED SCALLOPS ON TOAST SQUARES WITH SAFFRON AIOLI. 2 SCALLOPS ARE A STANDARD Linda got 2 scallops and said they were delicious!
We were not full but comfortable so we opted out of splitting a sandwich and decided to go with Linda's idea...dessert.
Oh my goodness! We split:
Tres Leches - A large, thick slice of white cake covered with three creams - One of the best desserts ever!
Bread Pudding - With brandy and raisins, thick and moist. Very good but did not compare to the tres leches.
If you are heading out with friends try out this restaurant if you like to order different foods and split. This was a lot of fun. Great pick Judy!!
